Position: Director of Engagement
Bruno van Dyk joined Afrobarometer in 2019. He has over 25 years’ experience in resource mobilization, university advancement and international collaboration in leadership positions in both South Africa and the UK. Most recently, as a consultant, he has served non-profit clients as Senior Associate Consultant with Brakeley UK and Nordic; and as Senior Vice President, UK & Europe, Grenzebach Glier & Associates. He served a successful 5½ year tenure as Director of Development and Alumni Relations for Durham University, UK; and as Executive Director of the UKZN Foundation, South Africa, he led fundraising and engagement for 15 years.
He has served and currently serves as a primary volunteer, trustee and Chair of several University and other non-profit national and international Boards, particularly with an interest in African development, international philanthropy and global education.
He has two Master’s degrees, in English Literature and Commerce respectively; a Higher Diploma in Education; a diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language; and two certificates in Managing Partnerships and Strategic Alliances from INSEAD and in ‘Storytelling for Change’ from +Acumen, New York.
