Du 26 novembre au 12 décembre 2012, Afrobaromètre a conduit une enquête représentative, aléatoire et stratifiée au niveau national sur un échantillon de 1200 adultes burundais. Des entretiens tête-à-tête ont été menés dans la langue de choix du répondant, par l’équipe Afrobaromètre basé au Groupe de Recherche et d’Appui au Développement des Initiatives Démocratiques(GRADIS). Les traductions ont été faites en 1 langue : Kirundi. IDS a fourni un appui technique pour l’enquête. Il s’agissait de la première enquête Afrobaromètre menée au Burundi
