About us

The Department of Political Science at Michigan State University (MSU) is part of the College of Social Sciences.  We describe and analyse political institutions and processes. The department is divided into subfields in American politics, international relations, comparative politics, public policy, and political thought.  Our goal is to educate students at both the undergraduate and graduate level about political concepts, theories, and methods.

MSU and Afrobarometer

As a support unit to Afrobarometer, MSU’s department of political science has lead responsibility for quality assurance and publications.  Our faculty and graduate students are involved in developing survey protocols, data quality control, and review of publications. We also produce new analysis of Afrobarometer data.
