Professor Massa Coulibaly holds a doctorate in mathematical economics and econometrics from the Paris 2 University (France). He is a teacher and researcher at the University of Bamako, where he teaches quantitative techniques and research methodology. He also teaches at the Applied and Theoretical Economics Research Group (Groupe de Recherche en Economie Appliquée et Théorique, or GREAT), of which he is a founding member and the executive director.
His research interests include household surveys, impact evaluation, regional economic integration, governance, local economy, and development and poverty alleviation economic policy. He joined the Afrobarometer network in Round 1 (1999-2001) as national coordinator for Mali. He represents francophone partner countries on the network’s Executive Committee and as such works closely with program managers in the planning and implementation of field activities.
