Leonard Wantchékon

Leonard Wantchekon joined the Afrobarometer Executive Committee in 2005. He is professor in the Politics department and associated faculty in the Economics department at Princeton University. He is also the founding director of the African School of Economics and its research center, the Institute of Empirical Research in Political Economy based in Benin.

A member American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Professor Wantchekon has published in leading economics and political science journals, on topics such as education and social mobility, democratisation, clientelism and redistributive politics, and the resource curse.
