E. Gyimah-Boadi

Position: Executive director

One of the co-founders of Afrobarometer, Professor Gyimah-Boadi is the former executive director of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development. He is professor emeritus in the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon, and holds a PhD from the University of California, Davis.

Prof Gyimah-Boadi's articles have appeared in the Journal of Democracy and UNU-WIDER, among others. He is co-author of Public Opinion, Democracy, and Market Reform in Africa (Cambridge University Press, 2005).

Prof Gyimah-Boadi is chair of the National Council of Persons with Disability. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Ibrahim Index of African Governance.

In 2017, Prof Gyimah- Boadi received the MLK Award for advancing democracy, good governance, and economic opportunity.
